Team Vesrah Brakes Wins Season Opener

The WEMS series opener was this past weekend for the new Vesrah Brakes MTB team. The new team gear is in the works with Voler. In the meantime, 34 laps, 163.2 miles in 11:57:42 was good enough for 1st place in the Open 4 man 12 hour category. We left Chicago shortly after 4AM following the rain til about Racine. The rest of the day was generally a mixture of sun and clouds with a few sprinkles. We were blessed as the rain was south of us and to the north. The team started the day doing 2 laps a piece and decided to switch to one after the first set. It was a long day of all out effort watching the competition quite closely. We had about a 7 minute gap on team two after 6 hours and ended the day with about a 10 minute gap. Vesrah welcomed all of the 12 hour participants over to the Vesrah van for some free disc brake pads. A swarm of folks were eager to give them a try. Look for more Vesrah Team action and brake pads at the next WEMS race at Kettle! A team dinner at Perkins on the way home to celebrate and then the arrival back home by 12:45 that night. Exhausted in all aspects, now that is Endurance racing! More pics are here.

Thanks for joining us at New Fane. You guys did awesome! Thanks also for the "freebies" to the crowd. I guess they went over so well. . . .we weren't able to get there in time. :-)

Great job!

Nice job Mark, sounds like a formidable effort for 12 Hours was rewarded with the win.
